We Survived the Soft-Opening! (Yup, We are Exhausted.)

Vivian Rose Boutique survived the soft-opening with our friends and family this past Saturday. In so many ways, sharing this with our loved ones is harder than strangers. You want to impress and wow your friends and family. Will they like it? Are they just being nice?
My biggest fear whenever we do an event is that no-one will show up. I even had nightmares about it in the weeks leading up to Saturday. Maybe opening a store doesn't seem like THAT big of a deal to some people. However, for me, this concept and store took my blood, sweat, and tears! This is my passion! Will people get it?
Of course, we weren't let down. Our signage and marketing did the trick! Even random strangers just passing by stopped in and shopped. We got tremendous feedback and even sold out of several items. (Score!)
Here are some of my favorite bits from the event:
* My friend Sarah sending me a text of picture of Beyonce telling me that I have this event in the bag and not to be worried. (Thank you, channeled my inner Beyonce all day.)
* Some of my other dear friends chipped in and sent me a bouquet of flowers telling me how proud they were of me. (Tear shed #1.)
* We had sales on the books before the party technically even started! Very exciting...
* My sister-in-law (best customer and biggest VRB fan) showing up with roses and crying at how beautiful she thought the place turned out. (Tear shed #2.)
* Talking, hugging, giggling, and sipping champagne with so many of my favorite people.
* Doing a toast at the end of the event with my mother and Mr. Rose.
* Being so dead on my feet that I limped out of the building, but the pain didnt' bother me. We survived round one, and that is something to celebrate.... (Tear shed #3.)
Hope to see you soon!!!
P.S. My only regret is that I didn't stop to make more pictures. Here are just a few items that I captured.
